Amiral Performance

Everything you need to know about performance modifications and tuning.

What is Stage?

The English word Stage corresponds to phase or step in tuning culture. It classifies modifications by their effect on performance, cost, and ease of installation (Stage 1, 2, 3, and so on). What one person calls Stage 2 may be Stage 1 or Stage 3 for another, so there is no clear industry standard in Turkey. Rather than labelling stages, we prefer to explain what each type of modification involves.

Cold Air Intake Kit

Replacing the factory air box, piping, and filter with a kit designed to improve the volume, quality, temperature, and flow of air entering the combustion chamber. Material quality and vehicle fitment are critical for the desired gains.

Performance Exhaust

Factory engines often use complex emissions hardware that restricts exhaust flow and costs power. Sport exhaust work aims to ease gas exit, raise engine output, and deliver a more engaging sound.

Downpipe

Replacing the section from the turbo outlet to the final exhaust tip with larger, better-shaped piping, often removing or bypassing mufflers, catalysts, DPF, and related sensors. Thermal loads and ECU updates after sensor changes are key considerations.

Performance Ignition

Spark timing, plug design, coil voltage, and cable sizing all affect combustion. Vehicle-specific ignition upgrades can improve efficiency, power, and fuel economy.

Dump Valve / Blow Off Valve

Higher boost increases thermal and mechanical stress on the turbo. Blow-off and dump valves manage charge-air release, extending turbo life and improving response.

Timing Adjustment

Ignition timing is tuned against many variables. Optimising timing for combustion efficiency returns more power and better fuel economy.

Big Turbo

Larger turbo upgrades demand matched software, correct sizing, quality install kits, and deep practical experience—not a simple bolt-on. Done right, they deliver a major step up in performance.

Intercooler Upgrades

A bigger turbo still needs properly cooled, dense charge air. A correctly sized intercooler in the right location lets you realise the turbo’s potential.

Fuel System Upgrades

Fuel quality, tank setup, pump capacity, lines, filters, fuel coolers, and injectors must match higher flow and pressure. Fuel system work must respect safety; poor execution carries serious risk.

Performance Camshafts

Street or race-profile cams are designed for performance-first lobe geometry and materials. Cam upgrades alone give limited gains; they work best with fuel system and related supporting mods.

Performance Manifolds

Improved intake and exhaust manifolds support better breathing, mixture preparation, and turbo spool, with positive effects across the engine system.

Upgraded Braking

More power needs proportionally stronger brakes—typically larger discs and suitable calipers, not drilled factory rotors. More friction area improves stopping distance and stability.

Drivetrain Upgrades

Engine power must reach the road through a driveline matched in strength and ratio—from gearset changes to wheels and tyres chosen for grip.

Coilover

Coilovers combine spring and damper in one unit for adjustable, sharper handling while absorbing bumps. Height and damping can often be tuned for different driving styles.

Performance Clutches

Harder driving demands clutches built for heat and engagement, not just shift comfort—important for safe power delivery and gearbox compatibility.

Forged Pistons, Rods, Valves, Springs & Retainers

Cast factory internals suit standard loads. Serious tuning needs forged pistons and rods, plus head work on valves and springs, to survive high stress and power.

Methanol / Ethanol Kits

Water-meth or ethanol injection can cool intake air, lower EGT, reduce knock, and add power—but water content can shorten engine life, so these kits suit limited, controlled use.

Chip Tuning

Factory maps target global markets, leaving headroom on the table. Custom remaps align ECU calibration with your hardware for safe, efficient performance or economy goals.
